MIFA — Ministère de la Femme en Action au Canada et en Afrique de l’Est — is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting seniors, women, widows, orphans, vulnerable children, immigrants, and families facing hardship in Canada and East Africa.

MIFA is a humanitarian and community-based nonprofit organization serving vulnerable communities in Canada and East Africa.
We believe that every person deserves dignity, care, opportunity, and hope. Our work focuses on supporting people who are often forgotten: seniors living with loneliness, East African immigrants adjusting to life in Canada, women in need of encouragement and empowerment, widows carrying family responsibilities alone, and children who need education, food, clothing, and protection.
MIFA exists to be a bridge of compassion between communities, donors, volunteers, and families in need.

What We Do
Focused support for seniors, women, widows, children, immigrant families, and vulnerable communities.
Many seniors face loneliness, isolation, emotional stress, and daily challenges. MIFA provides care, encouragement, social support, and community connection to help seniors feel valued, respected, and remembered.
We support women and East African immigrant families through social, educational, and wellbeing initiatives so families integrate, grow in confidence, access support, and build stronger futures.
In East Africa, many widows and struggling families face poverty, food insecurity, lack of school materials, and limited access to basic needs. MIFA provides practical support to help restore stability and hope.
Children are at the heart of our mission. We support orphans and vulnerable children through education assistance, school materials, clothing, nutrition, mentorship, and sponsorship opportunities.
We work with individuals, churches, organizations, businesses, and community partners to provide food, clothing, school supplies, computers, and essential resources to people in need.
